Travelers Prayer (The Wayfarer's Prayer, Tefilat Haderech, Prayer of the Road)- this prayer must be said whenever someone sets out on a road that extends for more than 4km without any town, as the safest place for person is his home or the town where he resides. But when a person leaves his own town, his friends and neighbors and sets out on the road, he exposes himself to a certain danger. If he is attacked, there will be less people who can come to his aid. If he is injured, it will take longer for him to reach a hospital. Therefore, wise men prepared the Prayer of the Road.
Since we are praying to the creator, and ask that our journey will pass peacefully, we beseech the Lord to grant us success in our ways (Prayers, 29, 2, 30, 1).
