Israeli Products

There are many products of Israeli origin which are currently purchased by people who are unfortunately unaware of their roots. Knowing a product’s origins might be useful in the future usage, but sometimes it has little effect on the respective usage. However, it is our belief that one should be aware of the origins of the products he/she uses in order to be able to give the proper credit to the manufacturers.

As far as Israel products are concerned, they are numerous ones and some are even worldwide available. Thus, one can buy the following Israeli products:

  • Health and beauty products;
  • Clothing and accessories: watches, handbags, jewelry, hats, scarves made of the purest silk, kipot, etc.
  • Food: chocolate, coffee, cookies, honey, olive oil, spices, tea, etc. Of these, the most commonly known are the Hashachar or Galil Chocolate brands and the Zeta, Gaya or Halutza Olive oil brands;
  • Toys and children’s items: baby clothing, bath toys, building toys, etc.;
  • Gifts, art and Judaica: art glass, candles, jewelry, Judaica items, perfumes, silver objects. Should one be interested in perfumes he/she can choose from the following: King Solomon’s Fragrance, Selah Body Lotion, Essence of Ein Gedi Perfume, King David Cologne, King David Anointing Oil, Light of Jerusalem Perfume, etc;
  • Calendars, Torah, Kabbalah and Judaism books, cookbooks, children’s books, greeting cards, music and DVDs;
  • Kitchen items, wall hangings, hand towels, flags, etc.

Of these numerous Israeli objects that could be bought worldwide, we have selected a few to present in greater detail in an effort to attract attention over their particular nature.

The Ahava Dead Sea Mineral and Mud cosmetics are a well-known Israeli line, of very high quality, both efficient and affordable. The star of the line is “Osmoter”, a complex of minerals used to protect the skin’s cells and promote a beautiful and young skin. All Ahava products are free of parabens, SLS or SLES, contain no traces of petroleum or any other types of synthetic ingredients. In addition to this, Ahava’s policy is never to test its products on animals.

Another Israeli cosmetics line is that of Dr. Fisher, consisting of treatment creams, various body lotions, shampoos, baby products. All these products are made of natural ingredients, have healing properties and are often recommended by dermatologists as they are used as treatment for common skin problems. Also, similar to the Ahava line, the line’s products are not tested on animals. The Natural Hair Care line is also very popular among worldwide customers. The line’s ingredients are natural active plant extracts and essential oils.

Israel is known for its technological development, which has been used even in the cosmetic industry to produce high quality items. For instance, the Premier products are unique in this manner, as they are the result of advanced laboratory research conducted by researchers in the fields of dermatology and cellular biology. These products contain a variation of Dead Sea minerals, mineral spring water, essential oils, liposome complexes and many other ingredients to help protect and nourish the skin. Again, Premier products are not tested on animals.

If you are looking to offer something other than cosmetics, the ADI watches are entirely an Israeli product. These watches are designed and assembled in Israel, in a kibbutz. They have a one year warranty and are highly competitive products.

However, if you are looking for less expensive gifts, you should choose the calendars. Normally, Jewish calendars are based on the Jewish year, starting from September onwards (which is the beginning of the Jewish year) and listing only Jewish holidays. Still, the “Holy Land” Calendars, despite their name, list Christian holidays and begin with the months of January, like the Christian year.

Also, several well-known products, used by millions of people all over the world, are related, to a large extent of their production process, with Jewish-based companies: Pampers diapers, Victoria’s Secret Lingerie, Volvo cars, Intel computer technology, Tribe and Sabra Hummus, Motorola cell phones, Hewlett –Packard computers, Ahava cosmetics, McDonald’s (it has a partnership with Jewish United Fund), and SodaStream. It would be improper to call them Israeli products, but there is some Israeli influence in their production nevertheless.
